Sector
Machinery and Industrial Equipment
A metal-processing and machinery base built for European customers, with room for American equipment, automation and partners.
The opportunity
Metal processing, machinery and equipment form one of Serbia's broadest industrial bases, with more than four thousand active companies and some seventy-three thousand employees, according to the Development Agency of Serbia. Most of the sector is made up of small and medium-sized firms working for manufacturers in Serbia and across Europe.
Trade runs in both directions. Machinery is among the leading U.S. exports to Serbia, and Serbian plants that modernize to supply European customers create demand for machine tools, automation, controls and service.
Where partnerships form
Equipment sales and distribution, after-sales service and spare parts, contract machining and fabrication for American buyers, and joint ventures or licensing for production in Serbia.
